Strangely Warmed

What’s in a name? Turns out there’s a lot, actually, especially for a church named “Aldersgate.” As we begin a new season of ministry with a new pastor and as an independent church in the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition, “Aldersgate” is a name that connects us to our roots as well as points us to our future. As John Wesley felt his heart “strangely warmed” at a meeting on Aldersgate Street in London in 1738, a spark that ignited the Methodist movement, we have a new opportunity to embrace our own Aldersgate moment and fan the flames of revival and renewal.
