Often when we pray, we question, how can I pray for my church more effectively? So, I thought I would help by giving you a guide for May. May is the month that some very important things/events are happening. There are several things that we should be praying about as we want to do God’s will, but also want to accomplish things that are in His timeline and the way God wants us to accomplish these things.
Here a Weekly Prayer Prompt for You:
May 1 – May 6 | Pray for the Staff Parish Team
They are working to hire a new Pastor. This takes a lot of time and God’s wisdom as well as understanding what and who is best for Aldersgate. Also, pray for the staff as they may need to do a little more to help address new things happening at Aldersgate.
May 7 – May 13 | Pray for the Pastors
They are working to continue guiding us through the disaffiliation process. They are also working to ensure that our congregation is still being shepherded and part of the Aldersgate flock. God knows that we need a strong shepherd, so we don’t wander off our path. They are still preaching and teaching us to Know Live Share JESUS.
May 14 – May 20 | Pray for Randy Campbell & Dave Hoffman
Pray for Randy & Dave as they prepare to travel to and from the Annual Conference. Pray fervently on May 17th for them. This is the date for the Special Session of Annual Conference and the date of voting for churches who wish to disaffiliate from the Susquehanna United Methodist Annual Conference. Pray for God’s will to done and approval is given by the voting members of Susquehanna Annual Conference.
May 21 – May 27 | Pray for the leaders of Aldersgate
They are working now and will continue to work as we put together our NEW church. While we still want to remain “Aldersgate” we need to ensure we have proper structures around us to be able to govern ourselves and have processes in place to operate independently. We want to be transparent, yet strong and following God’s will and living up to our vision of Know Live Share JESUS.
May 28 – May 31 | Pray
This is not a time to sit back and breathe, yet it is a holiday weekend. It is a time to remember. While the holiday is for remembering our veterans who bravely and proudly gave their lives for us. We also want to remember those who are the founders of Aldersgate. They prayed, planned, and searched for God’s will to be done while building our building and starting our congregation. Many of these dear folks are not with us anymore, but I think they are in heaven cheering us on for making this important stance to stay faithful to God and His Word.
