Holy Week at Aldersgate Church
The events leading to Easter morning are the cornerstone of the Christian faith and give us hope for the future. At Aldersgate, there are many opportunities to participate in the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection during Holy Week. Palm Sunday is a fulfilment of prophecy which recognizes Jesus as the Messiah and King who has come to save us. This year’s Maundy Thursday service remembers the last time Jesus was with his disciples and the new commandment he gave them: to love one another. It also takes us into Jesus’ betrayal and crucifixion together so we can leave the service prepared to observe Good Friday and Holy Saturday apart from one another. The Easter Sunrise service is a beautiful time to worship with alongside our youth and identify with those who were the first to arrive at Jesus’ empty tomb early on that glorious morning. On Easter morning we will have multiple services at our usual times to give glory, honor, and praise to our resurrected King! We hope you’ll join us for these meaningful times of worship as we retell the wondrous story that has been told for generations.
