Membership Musings
The Advent Season is upon us, it’s that time in the church year that we anticipate the coming of the Infant Jesus—God’s perfect gift of love to His imperfect world. For far too many days and weeks before Christmas, far too many of us focus on all that we must do, all that we must see, all that we must buy, wrap, bake, craft, send, etc. Even in the church, our busyness precludes our anticipation of the gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love that the Christ child offers to all who can quiet their hearts and minds long enough to receive Him. For your Advent and Christmas season, I pray you carve some time into your busy schedule to read the story, meditate on God’s precious gift, and acknowledge His son as Lord of your life.
Several of our members are celebrating special birthdays along with Jesus this December!
They are Ackie Atkinson on Dec 2nd; Russell Etter on Dec. 5th; Richard Julian on Dec. 7th; Harry Shermeyer on Dec. 14th; Ken Walton on Dec. 26th; and Karen Julian on Dec. 30th. As always, you may find their addressed on the bulletin board outside
my office, along with the listing of all our members who have birthdays during December.
Communication is so important, so I am asking that you continue to let Judy Sterner or I know when you hear of someone in our congregation who is ill, hospitalized, in need, moving, etc.
We really do want to stay in touch with everyone!
Have a blessed Christmas all and remember to shine the light of Christ wherever you go and whenever you can!
