United Methodist Youth Fellowship

(Junior High & Senior High)

Aldersgate offers the opportunity for the youth of Aldersgate and the community to become part of a group that can have fun together while growing in their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ and finding that they have an important role in the life of the church.
Sunday SchoolClasses for grade 6, grades 7 & 8, and grades 9-12 are offered every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. Junior High includes youth from 6th, 7th and 8th grades, while Senior High includes youth from grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. Each group has many individual activities, but both groups come together often for combined activities and growth opportunities.

Special Events

Special events such as the Creation Festival in June, the 30-Hour Famine, Hershey Park Day, the Corn Maze (to name a few) are attended by all youth. Each group also has weekend retreats, devotional meetings, scavenger hunts, tubing, etc. where they can bond with other youth at their age level.

Opportunities for service to others such as preparing and serving a Saturday evening meal for Helping Hands for the Homeless, serving at the Soup Kitchen, work camps, Christmas Caroling to shut-ins help to make the youth program one balanced between personal growth, fun and service.

Small Groups

Youth ready to take a deeper look into Christianity meet in small groups with adult advisors. They examine questions such as: How should I live my life as a Christian? How can I spread God’s word to unchurched friends? How does the bible relate to my life? Small groups meet weekly or biweekly . Adult mentors/advisors support and guide the youth as they grow in Christ.
