Are You Connecting with God?
Who is doing most of the talking? You or God?
Perhaps you are not talking to God but you still cannot hear him, have you ever stopped to ask yourself why?
How to Know it is God’s Voice
- Is it BIBLICAL?
- Does it GORIFY God?
- Does it DEMONSTRATE the life of Jesus?
- Is it out of SELFISH AMBITION?
- Does it EDIFY the church?
- Does it AGREE with godly counsel?
Take time this week and listen for God.
“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his hear; he gently leads those that have young.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
