Oh! The brilliance of the changing colors of the leaves – the reds, the oranges, the yellows, and the golds! What a reminder of God’s beautiful creation for our pleasure to enjoy.
“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” -Albert Camus
Not only is fall a time of change…change in temperatures, change in colors, change in schedules, and so many other alterations to our days, but it is also a time to harvest. It is a time to remember God’s abundance in our lives. Like the autumn finds the farmer gathering up his harvest, it is a time for us to gather up our blessings and be thankful.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, “says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the room to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops and the vines in your field will not drop their fruit before it is ripe. Then all the nations will call you blessed , for yours will be a delightful land.” Malachi 3: 10 – 12
Notice that in these verses from Malachi, not only do we see the promise of abundant blessings, but that we are also protected by God from infestation and premature harvesting. God’s timing is perfect as is His grace.
My prayer for you this October season is that you will see the beauty in God’s creation, that you will be able to experience the abundant yield of God’s blessings, and that you will sense the daily provisions and care from our Heavenly Father in His future for you.
