Hello, Aldersgate! I was raised in Halifax, PA, where there is more corn than people. After encountering a loving God in my Youth Group, I realized He was calling me to serve His Church, so I slowly began to embrace my call to pastoral ministry. This past May, I graduated from Messiah College with a B.A. in Christian Ministries. While I was finishing up my Degree, I got an unexpected phone call from Pastor Dale to consider joining him here at Aldersgate. When he told me about you all in York and the direction of the Church, I was overcome with peace, and I knew God was calling me to serve in this congregation.
Immediately after graduation, I got a job as a musician with Messiah’s music ministry team called Seven. During this time, I had the opportunity to travel to churches, camps, and festivals to play music and lead people in musical worship. It would be an understatement to say music is a big passion of mine. I primarily play the electric guitar, banjo, and cello, but I love to play all sorts of instruments. It is such a joy to use this gift as an offering of worship to bring glory to God.
I also enjoy creating art! I have a website where I post all my finished paintings and projects, but you will have to come see me personally if you want the link. My two favorite mediums are heavy body acrylics and woodburning, which is when you use a heated pen to carve and burn your image into a slab of wood. Another form of art I enjoy is cooking. During my first two semesters of college, I unintentionally found myself in the culinary field cooking alongside some wonderful mentors. I love to explore and be creative with my cooking, just as I do with my art. And if I have learned anything in ministry, it is that a good bite of food can turn a heart towards God in a moment.
My role here at Aldersgate is to serve as the Assisting Pastor, however, I am also temporarily serving as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator. You might see me preaching from the pulpit, playing electric guitar during the Contemporary Service, working in the sound booth during the Traditional Service, hanging out with the Youth on Sunday evenings, serving in The Amazing Adventures Zone, scheduling volunteers in my office, or worshipping in the courtyard during the day. It is such a joy to be here, and I look forward to getting to know each one of you as I hear your stories, serve with you, pray with you, and worship alongside of you.
