What a Wonderful December!
Wow! What a wonderful December we had in the preschool! Christmas is such a magical time of year-especially for young children. The preschoolers learned the story of that miraculous first Christmas, and that Jesus was the best Christmas present we could ever receive! We talked about the importance of helping and giving to others. The preschool families donated enough items that we were able to fill at least 25 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, the preschoolers made Christmas gifts for their parents, and the 4-year-old class went to Elmcroft to sing some Christmas songs and deliver hand made Christmas decorations to the residents. We are looking forward to making more visits to Elmcroft this year! The children and their parents made gingerbread houses together and then had a wonderful Christmas party with cookies and a special visit from Santa! A wonderful time was had by all!
When we return to school, we will be wearing our jammies to ease back into the school days. The remainder of the month of January the children will have snow much fun learning about the winter season, snow crystals and how animals cope with the cold winter weather. We will then take a journey to outer space and learn about the planets and our Solar System. It will be out of this world fun!
I would like to thank you all once again for your support this year with the renovations to the children’s wing and the preschool; now known as The Amazing Adventures at
Aldersgate Church. I feel very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful, giving church community!
