November was a busy month at preschool! We began the month learning about the beautiful changes occurring in nature with the arrival of fall. We took a trip to Nixon Park Education Center and learned about turtles and took a walk through the woods to the pond where we saw several turtles basking in the warm sunny weather. We ended the month learning about the history of Thanksgiving, as well as prepar- ing for our own feast. Unfortunately, the sudden arrival of winter weather caused a cancellation of our feast.
As we begin the month of December, the children are getting excited to celebrate the joy of Jesus’ birth.
Through stories, songs, and art the children will be learning the miracle of that first Christmas, and the best gift we were ever given! The children will be learning to care for others as well—we will be
collecting hats, mittens and scarves to donate to needy children. Before leaving for our Christmas holiday break, we will be making gingerbread houses and are hoping Santa will stop by and join us at our Christmas party!
I wish you all a very blessed and Merry Christmas!
