Moving Forward with the New Year
75 people at the Aldersgate annual Church Conference unanimously affirmed 7 goals for the year 2020:
- Community Christian Club (CCC): A gathering of local residence who weekly meet during the day in the Gathering Place for food, fellowship, faith development, and fun. The target group will be for those who are 55 + who are wanting to know their neighbors.
- Community Bible Study (CBS): A gathering of mostly woman and their home schooled students who meet weekly on Wednesday morning for an intensive Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall.
- Off-Campus Praise & Testimony Event: A gathering of various people from various backgrounds attending a Praise & Testimony event that may include an celebrity who became a Christian.
- Weekday Children Ministry: The Amazing Adventures at Aldersgate Church: Journey with Jesus is more than Sunday School, Pre-school, & VBS. Attempts will be made to provide Christian experiences for children during the week who are homeschooled, chartered, and/or excused from School for spiritual development.
- Youth Praise & Worship Services: Monthly gathering of youth from the greater York area for a time of praise and worship in the Fellowship Hall. Youth reaching youth for Jesus.
- 2020 Vision Faith Campaign: People trusting God to provide the extra funds for new roof, carpet, chairs, and sound panels needed for the Fellowship Hall. A matching fund of $100,000 has been provided to match every dollar for dollar.
- Everyone Reach One: Every member/family will be challenged and trained to be a shepherd and to reach the lost sheep in their neighborhood. While the pastor’s goal is to reach 10 new people who will attend Aldersgate Church, he is challenging everyone else to reach as many people as possible with at least one person who begins attending Aldersgate. Attendance will go from 300 to 600 with everyone’s participation. The purpose is not to grow the church but to grow the Kingdom of God.
